If you are trying to make money from blogging or some other online venture there are certain things you must do if you are not to fail: you must get visitors and you must rank in the search engines. You can achieve both of these goals by paying for visitors at the search engines via pay per click or you can get visitors for free using article marketing.
The first thing to do is research your article marketing subject. There are several excellent keyword tools available to help you decide which keywords will bring you visitors but also you need to make sure there is little competition as well or you will not get good results in the search engines. Your targeted phrases need to be related to your website and be getting plenty of search queries but not tons of results. You can read a more detailed post about keyword tools for a better understanding.
When you have researched your keywords you will want to use it in your articles title, a couple of times in the first paragraph, once or twice in the body and once again in the closing for optimum results.
Keep your article marketing real. In other words write it for people, not the search engines. Yes you can help it rank well by research and keyword tools but it's no good being number 1 in Google if no one reads the article. Keep it simple and to the point. Use numbers or bullets as they can better get a point across.
When you are done, read it several times and make sure it is both grammatically correct and that you have your keywords in the right places. Once you have checked it, read it again, a few times. If it doesn't quite read correctly, write it again and remember while you may be an expert on the topic, the reader is not.
Summing up your article is the most important {part-section} yet most who rely on article marketing miss the part completely. Your article gives the reader info that they have hunted out at the search engines but now you want them to be hungry for yet more info by visiting your blog. Point out the benefits of clicking your link and visiting your blog. Simply asking for the click won't cut it any more. Tell them exactly why they should and what they will find: a a much more thorough look at the topic, A valuable resource they can use etc.
Finally be choosy where you submit your articles and slightly rewrite it every time you submit it to a directory or blog feeder. I would give the original version to ezinearticles.com and wait for them to accept it before submitting it to the other article directories. This is because ezinearticles are the busiest so get you most traffic but they never articles that have already been submitted on other sites.
Article marketing is still the number one method of promoting a business online without spending big money on advertising. Just one article each day will result in a hundred or so articles on perhaps 1000's of other sites in just three months from now all with links aimed at your site.
For the ultimate bang in article marketing take a look at submitting your articles to Article Marketing Automation. The articles take longer to write but the benefits are ten times better than normal article marketing.
